Dr. Husam A. Neamah Almusawi is an Associate Professor of Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Debrecen (Hungary). He founded and leads the Autonomous and Assistive Robotics Lab (A²R Lab). His research focuses on autonomous navigation, cognitive robotics, AI-based control, and assistive rehabilitation technologies. He has published extensively in Q1 and D1 journals and developed advanced algorithms in reinforcement learning, human–robot interaction, and biosignal-driven control systems. Dr. Almusawi serves as Vice-Chair of the IEEE IES Technical Committee on Control, Robotics, and Mechatronics (TC-CRM) and as Vice Editor-in-Chief of Recent Innovations in Mechatronics (RIiM). He has held key organizational roles in major IEEE conferences—including ICIT 2025, ICM 2025, IECON 2025, ISIE 2024, and ONCON 2025—as co-track chair and special session organizer. He supervises multiple PhD, MSc, and BSc students.
